Perler beads are used by melting them in a paper muffin cup. A Perler bead pegboard holds the strings of beads upright so they don’t melt to each other over a flame, and a bead spinner pulls string from an upper container that’s been slanted down into another container. The heat from the stove melts the beads, which then slip through the paper cups and get set between wire grids for bakeslite or tygon sheets on top. Once you’re finished putting all your beads on, just put it in the oven at 275F to fuse everything together while your artwork gets tapped for mistakes with a few long pins while cooling.
