Queen Annes Revenge

The Queen Anne’s Revenge was the name of a ship that belonged to Blackbeard the notorious English Pirate. Although he used the ship for less than a year, it was an effective tool in his prize taking. In 1718 Blackbeard grounded the ship at Beaufort inlet, currently Carteret county, North Carolina. The Ship was later destroyed. In late 1996, Interval the private contractor working for the State of North Carolina in marine recovery, discovered the remains of a vessel likely to be the Queen Anne’s Revenge.
